Principal Jeremy Corwin

Jeremy Corwin spent thirteen years teaching Social Studies, Leadership, and Computers at R.A. Brown Middle School before moving to Century High School as the dean of students in 2018. After two years in that role, he became one of the school’s assistant principals. In the 2021-22 school year, he served as both assistant principal and athletic director. At Century, Corwin was instrumental in ensuring more 9th and 10th graders were on track to graduation. He also facilitated the school’s Care Team and launched “Kid Talks” to bring teachers together to collaborate around individual students’ strengths, challenges, and supports. 

Corwin spent 2 years as the assistant principal of Twality Middle School in Tigard. There, he again centered student, staff, and community voice and input to cultivate a positive school climate. He has also led professional development, refined attendance team procedures, and supported new teachers leading to zero percent attrition in 2023. 

 

Assistant Principal Jenny Taguchi

Jenny Taguchi taught at Eastwood Elementary from 2015 - 2021 where she led English classes within a dynamic dual-language program which fostered bilingual proficiency and cultural understanding among students.  

She joined Poynter's staff in 2021 as the dean of students.  She worked to develop strong connections with staff and students, championing initiatives to enhance educational outcomes.  She has a focus on student safety and behavioral development, taking an approach to managing student behavior through restorative practices and cultivating an inclusive school environment focused on community-building.  She leads and serves on multiple committees and teams focused on staff collaboration and student success.  Jenny oversees 8th grade students this year.

 

Dean of Students Alex Dye

Alex Dye began her career at Eastwood Elementary school as an instructional assistant and transitioned into teaching shortly after.  More recently, she was a 6th grade dual language teacher.  She focuses on student connection and loves learning about their interests.  Alex oversees 7th grade students this year.
