The Zone
Don't go home; go to the ZONE!
This intramural sports program is offered at all middle schools and is an introductory athletic experience. It is not intended to be a highly intense, competitive program. Sportsmanship and teamwork will be taught and closely managed at all competitions. Perfect attendance is not mandatory, but is encouraged to allow participants to have a positive experience. There are five sports offered this school year. All sports are co-ed. Specific game and practice schedules will be given out the first week of each session
Transportation
Practice Days: Each sport will have practices at their own school from 3:25 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. On practice days, students have the option of riding the activity bus that will pick them up at 5 p.m. If the participant is riding the activity bus, a parent will need to fill out and return the After School Transportation Form, available in your school office.
Game Days: Starting the fourth week of each session, there will be home games and away games at other middle schools. The program will end later on game days. Games will end at approximately 6 p.m. Students can ride the activity bus from away games back to their school, arriving approximately 6:30 p.m. There is no activity bus to take participants home on any game days. Participants will need to be picked up at school or walk home.
More information will be coming as soon as the City of Hillsboro's Parks & Recreation finalizes its Zone schedule and registration form.
